Fiji is ideally located in the warm tropics of the southern hemisphere. It
lies on the 180 Meridian where the dawning of each new day occurs and in fact
the meridian passes through the island of Taveuni.
The two major islands in the group are known as Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. The
third largest island is Taveuni itself. Almost 80% of the population live on the
largest two islands. This means that Taveuni remains a quiet, peaceful
haven.
